This week we are focusing on Kindness. How full is your bucket?
What can you do to pay it forward? Kindness goes around What will you do today? And every day?

This man didn't give up!

Perseverance is our new focus. Remember Ormie? Ormie the pig wants a cookie Perseverance, like resilience, is an ongoing value that challenges us in the most unexpected places. With maths, art, sport, literacy, friendships... every day can be different for every child. Perseverance is a key skill that will see us through life when the going gets tough. Boyzone Rednose day When the going gets tough, the tough get going.

Check out this RESPECT Rap - our current value focus. The children learnt this and performed it to the junior syndicate assembly with room 11.


Children can earn 'Gotcha' awards for demonstrating our school values. Five gotchas earn a wrist band of the colour of the value, eg orange band for showing respect.  When children have earnt all five bands, they are awarded the the ultimate Whanaungatanga band to show their commitment and belonging to Waikanae School. Values certificates may also be awarded in assembly for demonstrating these key skills.  Well done to all the children already on their way to earning wristbands this year!
